Summer is here and our bootcamps are heading outdoors on June 4th– woot woot! To kick off our summer of fierce, fit, fun, we are kicking it off by celebrating one of our long standing  chicks, Josie from our Don Mills Bootcamp, who embodies all things FIT CHICKS.  From fab fitness results to healthy changes in mind & body to motivating peeps in her community to get their sweat on, Josie is living proof that every chick (even after having 3 babies!) can start living la vida FIT CHICK and change her life at any stage!

1.   What made you decide to join FIT CHICKS and start a fitness program?

After having my third baby, I definitely needed a transformation!  I had gained 40++ pounds and was not feeling  great.  Seeing myself in pictures was the worst.

I knew I needed to do something for my body and my mind.  I find the gym super boring so I knew I wouldn’t stick with  it.  I decided to join a bootcamp and found FIT CHICKS online.  I decided to give it a try and I’m so happy I did.

2.   What / who has helped you in reaching your fitness and weight loss goals?

Anna at my Don Mills Bootcamp is a fantastic Chick Sergeant – she has great energy and is very motivating!  Each class is different and offers variety which keeps me motivated. I look forward to each class..which I never thought could happen!

3.   What is your fave FIT CHICKS workout? Which exercises do you love to hate?

Tabatas! The intensity of it is great.  When I think I cant keep going I just keep telling myself its only 20 seconds!!!

My most love to hate exercise is push ups. When I started my first bootcamp I could barely  do 1 pushup on my toes. Now I’m up to 15, working my way to my next goal of 30!

Also the Plank! Who knew that an exercise that requires no movement is so challenging.

4.   What have your results been like since joining bootcamp and starting to live la vida FIT CHICK?

Since my first bootcamp in May 2010 I have lost 41 lbs and  24 inchesoff my body.

I feel stronger and healthier and I have more endurance and  energy.  I feel so much better about my body and I am happier  overall.  It’s amazing what exercise can do for you inside and out!

5.   Any parting words to chicks who are nervous to start something new or try a bootcamp?

Fit Chicks is a fun and motivating environment!  Its a great way to relieve stress and make time for yourself. The workouts are challenging but you feel such a sense of accomplishment when you are done. I love it!

Josie, we are so proud of you and how you have drastically changed your health…it is so inspiring to all mama chicks who are starting (or already started!) living la vida FIT CHICK that they can do it too (and teach their families healthy habits!)
