30 Day Nutrition Challenge

Hey Chicks!!

Sis here! In the spirit of Nutrition Month, I am about to embark on a 30 Day Nutrition Challenge. You see, when it comes to Chick Tips, I can talk the talk, but I am having a hard time walking the walk.

For the next 30 days (starting Monday of course!) I am going to be accountable to all you Chicks out there. I will be logging my daily meals, doing some video blogs and hopefully giving you all some encouragement and ideas too.

So, what am I going to be eating?

Well first off, I HATE counting calories. As soon as I try, I actually become obsessive which leads me to eating MORE! I know that doesn’t work for me, so instead I am eliminating certain foods for a month and am going to eat reasonable, satisfying portions of natural foods.

Here’s my plan:

Eliminate sugar AND artificial sugars
Eliminate caffeine and alcohol
Eliminate dairy
Eliminate gluten
Eliminate all processed and packaged foods

So what’s left for me to eat? I’ll be eating

Tons of veggies, especially greens!
Fruit
Meat, Poultry and Fish
Eggs
Nuts and seeds (limited amounts!)
Healthy Fats

You Chicks may think this sounds extreme, but just so you know, I am
not saying you all have to give up these foods, as some are healthy and others are ok in moderation.

For me, I haven’t had dairy for a few months, and gluten containing foods make me feel bloated and blah. Also, some foods trigger me to eat more, like I can’t just have one glass of wine, or a handful of nuts. I tried limiting my caffeine intake to one cup of tea per day….that soon stretched to 10! And no, I am not kidding! So for an all or nothing Chick like me, avoidance is best.

Anyway, tomorrow is Day One. I will be taking measurements and stats – although I may not make those public just yet!

I am a little nervous about putting it all out there, but I need a kick in the butt!
