CHICK FEED: 3 ingredient Jammin Jam Recipe (raw, sugar free, high fibre, all natural)

Hey Chicks,

Summer has been banging with awesome berries…now what to do with all of them?  Make jam!

But this is not any type of jam!  It’s a nutrition powerhouse jam.  It’s packed with calcium, anti oxidants, happy fats (aka essential fatty acids) thanks to its main gelling ingredient…chia seeds (read more about why I love the benefits of chia in the Choco Chia Breakfast Pudding).

3 Ingredients: blueberries, chia seeds & stevia (or use raw honey)

Plus, it has only 3 ingredients so even the most culinary challenged chick can make it!

Step 2: Throw 3 ingredients in a food processor

Make 2 cups

  • 2 cups of fruit or berries
  • 2 Tbsp of raw honey (or equivalent in stevia for sugar free)
  • 2 Tbsp of ground chia seeds

Directions

  1. Grind chia seeds in coffee grinder.  You can leave whole but it makes a smoother texter if ground)
  2. Place all ingredients in food processor.
  3. Pour into glass mason jar.  Refrigerate overnight for chia seeds to gel and thicken.
  4. Wake up and enjoy instead of sugar packed, processed store bought jam!

STEP 3: Puree until smooth and pour into mason jar

CHICK TIPS

  1. After blending, stir in dried fruit or cut up fruit / berries for a chunkier jam.
  2. Mix & match! Combos we love are strawberry/rhubarb, blueberry/ raspberry, blackberry /orange..just make sure the total amount is 2 cups.
  3. Get your kiddies involved! This is a super fun and easy healthy eating project to get the wee ones in on and can be done year round.

STEP 4: Refridgerate overnight to gel & enjoy!
