Hosted by Co- Founders/ Head Chicks and Host of the TV Series “Shape Up with FIT CHICKS” on Rogers TV, Laura Jackson & Amanda Quinn, the 2013 “Fierce Fall Fitness” FIT CHICKS Retreat is an action packed girls weekend focusing on all things FIT CHICK including health, fitness, yoga, nutrition, wellness, adventure and FUN…all while celebrating your fabulousness!
You will laugh, you will learn. You will sweat, you will burn (in a good way!). But most importantly, you will leave feeling re-energized, motivated and inspired with the tools to Live la Vida FIT CHICK for the long haul.
ALL CHICKS WELCOME! This retreat is perfect moms & daughters, BFF’S, sisters, co workers and neighbours to spend some healthy quality time or for chicks flying solo (we can even find you a roomie:) to meet other fab peeps who share the healthy love!

FIT CHICKS CHALLENGE
What do get when ‘The Amazing Race’ meets “An amazing workout”…THE FIT CHICKS Challenge! Broken up into teams, this 2 hour fitness “scavenger hunt” includes team challenges, fitness obstacles, health trivia and activities for a super fun workout to challenge your mind and body in the great outdoors.
“READY TO ROCK” POWER YOGA
Taught by Head Chick Amanda, this yoga flow practice will wake up your body and centre your mind. We will also explore proper breathing techniques, adjustments and techniques to do at home to manage stress and keep you lovely & limber. Wanna take it to the next level? An afternoon yoga workshop to will help build confidence & challenge all levels of yogis to get like gumbi.
FIT CHICKS BOOTCAMP
Get your sweat on indoors & out with our signature FIT CHICKS high intensity interval workouts like “I heart Tabatas”, “8 Steps to Fabulousness” & “54321”. Our “tough love approach will have you sweating (and laughing!) up a storm while using all the elements nature (& Horseshoe Resort!) has to offer. But don’t let the cute chicks fool you – this is not a girlie workout!
“GO FOR GOLD” BOOTCAMP
Inspired by the buff bods & sleek strength of the best winter sports competitors – Olympic Athletes! This is a total body toning, high intensity interval circuit class includes moves that real athletes use to get ready for the games.Don’t be nervous – you will leave this class feeling like the you are standing on the podium!
THE “DIRTY 30” WORKOUT!
Rev your metabolism & rock your body with our FIT CHICKS signature high intensity interval workout! This class is all of our chicks’ most “love to hate” workouts because not only is it mucho fun & challenging for all levels but you will burn a ton of calories in a super short period of time. Learn this amazing high intensity interval method that will push you to levels you never thought possible.
ZUMBA® BY FIT CHICKS
Shake your tail feather, burn tons of calories have a blast while doing it! We will kick off this super fierce weekend with ZUMBA®, an exhilarating, effective, easy-to-follow, Latin-inspired, calorie-burning dance fitness-party™ (especially when taught FIT CHICKS style!)
Not a dancer or coordinated? Not to worry – ZUMBA® is for EVERY CHICK and no experience is required. Plus, this is a CHICK ONLY Zone that we promise will be comfortable for everyone.
FAB & FOCUSED – “CRUNCHLESS” CORE CLASS
As seen on “Shape Up with FIT CHICKS – Fab & Focused”, we are ditching the old school mentally of crunching your way to a six pack. Learn amazing moves and techniques to strengthen and tone your trunk – front to back – without ever seeing a sit up. This is a “crunch free” zone!
HEALTHY HOTTIE HIKING
We are bringing back one of the best pieces of fitness equipment to get you movin’ in the Canadian outdoors…2 feet and a heart beat! Led by Head Chick Laura, wake up your senses with the fresh air and beautiful trails for a killer calorie burn!
HIT THE HILLS INTERVALS
Fun, fierce interval hill bootcamp that will push you to new heights – inside & out!
ALL LEVELS WELCOME! From the fitness newbie to a seasoned vet, all classes offers levels and modifications so every woman can sweat up a storm with us and be challenged but never overwhelmed.
CHICK FEED: Food and Nutrition
At FIT CHICKS, our nutrition mantra is “Eat REAL, WHOLE food made with LOVE”. Meals throughout the weekend will be prepared from fresh, local, healthy ingredients and will be served in a buffet / brunch style (with the exception of the “Swap your Sweats for Sass” Dinner) to allow for chick’s specific tastes.
In addition to eating delish, healthy food, we will be learning from Head Chick Laura (& Certified Culinary Nutrition Expert!) throughout the weekend how you can eat like a FIT CHICK for the long haul. Workshops include topics such as:

Feeling Fit & Fierce Dinner Celebration
Part of livin la vida FIT CHICK is celebrating your fabulousness! Let’s swap our sweat for sass and celebrate at our “Feelin’ Fit & Fierce” Dinner by getting a little dolled up while we enjoy Chef’s signature creations and some chick chat!
Please let us know of any special dietary needs and/or food allergies so we can do our best to accommodate in advance. Alcohol will be served at dinner. Non alcoholic options are also available
LIVIN LA VIDA FIT CHICK WORKSHOP
Livin la Vida FIT CHICK is our fab,tried & tested formula that will enable any chick to reach her full potential – inside & out! In this life coaching workshop, learn more about the 4 healthy principles and how to combine all 4 together for the magic happens (aka your inner FIT CHICK is uncovered). The sky is the limit!
FEELIN’ CHILL: MEDITATION WORKSHOP
The benefits of meditation are endless but many of us don’t know how to get there. Led by Head Chick (& Certified Ashtanga Teacher) Amanda, this easy to follow workshop will show you how to calm the mind, the body and uncover your bliss. No equipment or magic pills necessary!

Flying Solo? We have 2 options!

WHAT TO BRING?
For the best experience, please bring the following items:
- Yoga Mat
- Indoor workout gear
- Appropriate running shoes (we recommend bringing two pairs to be sure you always have dry one just incase it is wet outside)
- Outdoor workout gear, (ie thermal clothing) please be sure to bring along some clothes that you can layer to match the weather
- Outdoor boots for walking and hiking (hiking boots recommended)
- Evening attire for the Saturday night dinner when we trade our sweats for fabulous!

TERMS & CONDITIONS
Please note all reservations and payments are processed through Horseshoe Resort & Calabogie Peaks Resort and not through any FIT CHICKS systems. All inquiries regarding payment or refunds are to be made to the resorts directly. Unless stated otherwise, all rates are based on double occupancy in a Standard Room with upgrades available for a fee. All prices are subject to HST, Resort Amenity Fee and Gratuities where applicable. Cannot be combined with any other offer or promotion. A deposit of 1 night stay is required at the time of booking. Cancellations must be received at least 7 days prior to your arrival date to avoid loss of deposit. The resort reserve the right to cancel the retreat 7 days prior to retreat date and full refund will be given. All rooms located on property are designated non-smoking.
