{"id":5341,"date":"2014-01-16T13:13:53","date_gmt":"2014-01-16T21:13:53","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.fitchicks.ca\/blog\/?p=5341"},"modified":"2014-01-16T13:13:53","modified_gmt":"2014-01-16T21:13:53","slug":"chick-feed-2-ingredient-banana-rama-cookies","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.fitchicks.ca\/blog\/2014\/01\/chick-feed-2-ingredient-banana-rama-cookies\/","title":{"rendered":"CHICK FEED:  2 Ingredient Banana Rama Cookies"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Hey Chicks,<\/p>\n<p>So the holidays are now behind us and you may be going through a little &#8220;treat&#8221; withdrawal.\u00a0 \u00a0Not to worry &#8211; we are here to rescue with our &#8220;5 ingredient&#8221; or less fix&#8230;<strong>.introducing the 2 ingredient Banana Rama Cookie!<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.fitchicks.ca\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/01\/4-e1389906640800.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-5345\" title=\"4\" src=\"http:\/\/www.fitchicks.ca\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/01\/4-e1389906640800.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"333\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.fitchicks.ca\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/01\/4-e1389906640800-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.fitchicks.ca\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/01\/4-e1389906640800.jpg 500w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 500px) 100vw, 500px\" \/><\/a><br \/>\n<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong> <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong> <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong> <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>These delectable delights are gluten free, vegan and no sugar added. <\/strong> Perfect for kiddies or toddlers and freeze well for a make ahead &#8220;grab and go&#8221; snack.\u00a0 Plus, they are an awesome &#8220;base cookie&#8221; if you want to get creative and add more to them (see Chick Tips below)<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_5344\" style=\"width: 300px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.fitchicks.ca\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/01\/dnbNH_jpaRRwgDttZ7TD2w.jpg\"><img aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-5344\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-full wp-image-5344\" title=\"dnbNH_jpaRRwgDttZ7TD2w\" src=\"http:\/\/www.fitchicks.ca\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/01\/dnbNH_jpaRRwgDttZ7TD2w.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"290\" height=\"218\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-5344\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Pic borrowed from food.com as we ate all before we could photograph:)<\/p><\/div>\n<h3>2 Ingredient Banana Rama Cookies<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>1 large ripe banana (look for the brown spotty ones for extra sweetness!)*<\/li>\n<li>1 cup of gluten free oats or oat flour<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<address><em>*Note &#8211; depending on the size of your banana or if you are adding in more ingredients, you may need 2 bananas. \u00a0It&#8217;s is a little game of trial and error but have fun!<\/em><\/address>\n<address><em><br \/>\n<\/em><\/address>\n<h3>Directions<\/h3>\n<ol>\n<li>Preheat your oven to 350 degrees.\u00a0 Line a baking sheet with parchment paper (they will stick if not!)<\/li>\n<li>Pour your oats into your coffee or spice grinder to blend into oat flour.\u00a0 If you already have oat flour, skip this step.<\/li>\n<li>Pour oat flour into a bowl and mash the banana in until a smooth consistency (you can even do this with your hands)<\/li>\n<li>Form into 6 balls and place on parchment paper.\u00a0 Press down with a fork to a cookie shape.<\/li>\n<li>Bake for approx. 8 -12 min or until set.\u00a0 Depending on your oven this may vary.\u00a0 Cool before diving in and eating this delicious goodness!<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h3>CHICK TIPS<\/h3>\n<p>As mentioned above, this is an awesome &#8220;base cookie&#8221; to build from.\u00a0 Here are some of our faves.<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><strong>Banana Chocolate Heaven:<\/strong> Stir in 1\/3 cup of dark chocolate chips (Enjoy Life is a great gluten free brand!) or cacao nibs to kick that chocolate craving<\/li>\n<li><strong>Spicy Cinnamon Raisin Pecan:<\/strong> Add 1 tsp of cinnamon, 1\/4 cup of sulphite free raisins, and 1\/4 cup chopped pecans&#8230;so yummers!<\/li>\n<li><strong>Trail Mix Madness: <\/strong> Add 1\/8 cup chopped dried cranberries, 1\/8 cup pumpkin seeds, 1\/8 cup chopped almonds or walnuts, 1\/8 cup dried coconut.\u00a0 Ridiculously good!<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Serve with <a title=\"WELLNESS WEDNESDAY:  A hot chocolate with super powers?
