Principle 2: Eat real, whole foods made with love<\/a> for its yummy uses and natural state \ud83d\ude42<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.fitchicks.ca\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/03\/chia.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-4796\" title=\"chia\" src=\"http:\/\/www.fitchicks.ca\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/03\/chia.jpg\" alt=\"chia seeds\" width=\"627\" height=\"627\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.fitchicks.ca\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/03\/chia-150x150.jpg 150w, http:\/\/www.fitchicks.ca\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/03\/chia-300x300.jpg 300w, http:\/\/www.fitchicks.ca\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/03\/chia.jpg 627w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 627px) 100vw, 627px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<h3>Now you know what is chia is, why do I heart it so much?<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Super high source of Omega 3 fat<\/strong>s (approx 19-25% of its weight is this healthy fat!) which means it is great for heart health, brilliant brain food and keeps cells healthy<\/li>\n<li><strong>High in soluble fibre<\/strong> for balanced blood sugar, keep you regular and manage weight<\/li>\n<li><strong>It&#8217;s a complete source veggie protein<\/strong>, meaning it contains all the essential amino acids you need for good health!<\/li>\n<li><strong>Absorb up to 12 times their weight <\/strong>to keep you fuller longer!<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div id=\"attachment_4798\" style=\"width: 510px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.fitchicks.ca\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/03\/chiagel.jpg\"><img aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-4798\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-full wp-image-4798\" title=\"chiagel\" src=\"http:\/\/www.fitchicks.ca\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/03\/chiagel.jpg\" alt=\"chia gel\" width=\"500\" height=\"375\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.fitchicks.ca\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/03\/chiagel-300x225.jpg 300w, http:\/\/www.fitchicks.ca\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/03\/chiagel.jpg 500w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 500px) 100vw, 500px\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-4798\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">This gel is magic!<\/p><\/div>\n<p>But not only is it a super food, but it has so many super cool uses.\u00a0 How you ask?\u00a0 Because chia is magic!\u00a0 <strong>When you add a liquid to it and let it sit for a couple of minutes, chia turns into a &#8220;gel&#8221; that your body loves &#8211; inside and out!<\/strong> This&#8221;gel&#8221; is very gentle on your tummy and <strong>binds to toxins to helps your body to eliminate all the nasties.<\/strong> It&#8217;s like a gentle wash for your insides and can be used in cooking for so many different things.<\/p>\n<h3>CHICKTASTIC CHOCOLATE CHIA PUDDING<\/h3>\n<p>Makes 4\u00a0 servings<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>1 cup coconut milk (you can also use almond milk)<\/li>\n<li>1\/4 cup chia seeds<\/li>\n<li>1 Tbsp raw cacao powder or reg cocoa powder<\/li>\n<li>1 Tbsp of coconut sugar, honey or stevia<\/li>\n<li>mix in fruit of choice (i like bananas, strawberries &amp; raspberries)<\/li>\n<li>Top with chopped almonds or walnuts<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4>Directions<\/h4>\n<ol>\n<li>Pour milk into bowl and whisk in cocoa powder and sweetner of choice. Stir in chia seeds.<\/li>\n<li>Cover and refridgerate for 4 hours.\u00a0 It will have turned into a jello type pudding.<\/li>\n<li>Scoop into serving bowls and top with bananas, raspberries and strawberries.\u00a0 Sprinkle with almonds.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h3>CHICK TIP<\/h3>\n<ol>\n<li><strong>Don&#8217;t like &#8220;tapioca like&#8221; consistency of the pudding? <\/strong>Blend your finished pudding in blender or food processor to grind the seeds down until texture is smooth.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Take it on the road!<\/strong> You can make it anywhere on the fly like\u00a0 at work.\u00a0 <strong>Simply add 2 tbsp to 6-8 tbsp of milk in a mug <\/strong>and let sit for 15 min.\u00a0 S<\/li>\n<li><strong>Mix up your flavours!<\/strong> Sub cocoa for vanilla bean, nut butter or even pumpkin spice.\u00a0 The possibilities are endless:)<\/li>\n<li><strong>Buy in Bulk!<\/strong> Not sure if you will like chia?
