Olives, pesto, veggies, roasted red peppers or garlic, goat cheese&#8230;so many different and creative ways you can create these plates to your personal tastes. Plus you don&#8217;t over eat!\u00a0 <strong>As I don&#8217;t really eat a lot of grains, the one thing I always struggle with is what the heck to eat all of these goodies on! <\/strong> With breads and most crackers out of the picture, I had to come up with an alternate solution&#8230;<strong>.introducing the Super Fab Sunflower Seed Cracker Recipe!<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_4487\" style=\"width: 310px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.fitchicks.ca\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/12\/cracker-plate.jpg\"><img aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-4487\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-4487\" title=\"cracker plate\" src=\"http:\/\/www.fitchicks.ca\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/12\/cracker-plate-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"paleo antipasto plate\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.fitchicks.ca\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/12\/cracker-plate-300x225.jpg 300w, http:\/\/www.fitchicks.ca\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/12\/cracker-plate.jpg 960w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-4487\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">One of my fave plates with Almond Lemon Pesto &amp; olives<\/p><\/div>\n<p>These homemade crackers are SO DELICIOUS<\/strong> (I like to call them crispy, crunchy goodness) that I can almost promise <strong>you will like them better than store bought!\u00a0 Plus, they are gluten free, grain free and paleo friendly.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>For my vegan chicks, just swap out the egg for a &#8220;chia egg&#8221;<\/strong> to bind (1 tbsp chia seed soaked in 3 tbsp water)<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_4489\" style=\"width: 310px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.fitchicks.ca\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/12\/cracker.jpg\"><img aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-4489\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-4489\" title=\"cracker\" src=\"http:\/\/www.fitchicks.ca\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/12\/cracker-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"paleo grain free gluten free crackers\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.fitchicks.ca\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/12\/cracker-300x225.jpg 300w, http:\/\/www.fitchicks.ca\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/12\/cracker.jpg 960w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-4489\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Crackers in the making!<\/p><\/div>\n<h3>CHICK FEED:\u00a0 Super Fab Sunflower Seed Cracker Recipe<\/h3>\n<p>1 1\/4 cups raw sunflower seeds<\/p>\n<p>1\/4 cup of sesame seeds<\/p>\n<p>1\/4 cup sunflower seed butter (you can sub tahini or cashew butter too)<\/p>\n<p>1 egg (or chia egg for my vegan chicks!)<\/p>\n<p>3\/4 tsp rosemary<\/p>\n<p>1\/2 tsp parsley<\/p>\n<p>1\/2 tsp garlic powder<\/p>\n<p>1\/2 tsp sea salt plus more to sprinkle on top<\/p>\n<p><strong> <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>DIRECTIONS<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>1.\u00a0\u00a0 In a food processor, pulse the sunflower seeds into a fine meal<\/p>\n<p>2.\u00a0\u00a0 Add the sesame seeds, sunflower seed butter, egg and all seasonings and pulse until well combined<\/p>\n<p>3.\u00a0\u00a0 Dough will clump together and create one big ball<\/p>\n<p>4.\u00a0\u00a0 Place dough on a piece of parchment paper with another piece of parchment place over the top<\/p>\n<p>5.\u00a0\u00a0 Use a rolling pin to roll the dough out between an 1\/8 and 1\/4 inch thick<\/p>\n<p>6.\u00a0\u00a0 Slice with a sharp knife into desired size crackers<\/p>\n<p>7.\u00a0\u00a0 Place the bottom piece of parchment paper with dough onto a cookie sheet<\/p>\n<p>8.\u00a0\u00a0 Bake at 350 for 8- 10 min minutes.\u00a0 Flip the crackers. Then bake for another 2- 5 minutes until brown.<\/p>\n<p>9.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Sprinkle with a little sea salt as soon as crackers come out of oven<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_4488\" style=\"width: 310px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.fitchicks.ca\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/12\/Girls.jpg\"><img aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-4488\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-4488\" title=\"Girls\" src=\"http:\/\/www.fitchicks.ca\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/12\/Girls-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.fitchicks.ca\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/12\/Girls-300x225.jpg 300w, http:\/\/www.fitchicks.ca\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/12\/Girls.jpg 960w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-4488\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">The crackers got the &quot;2 jazz hands up&quot; by the chicks \ud83d\ude42<\/p><\/div>\n<h3>CHICK TIPS FOR EVEN MORE FAB CRACKERS!<\/h3>\n<p>Here a few tips that may be helpful as you make your crackers:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>No rolling pin? <\/strong>I did not have one so I used a wine bottle..worked like a charm!<\/li>\n<li><strong>Play with your flavours! <\/strong>These crackers can be made savory or sweet.\u00a0 Add cranberries, sliced nuts, basil, thyme, chili flakes&#8230;the possibilities are endless<\/li>\n<li><strong>Avoid thin edges.<\/strong> The edges of your crackers may brown faster than the rest as they are thinner.\u00a0 I find if you try not to roll too thin and flip then rearrange at about 8 min that you can salvage those edges \ud83d\ude42<\/li>\n<li><strong>Serve with yummy dips! <\/strong> One of my fave is always fresh salsa like our\u00a0<a title=\"Chick Feed \u2013 Laura's Sassy Salsa\" href=\"http:\/\/www.fitchicks.ca\/blog\/2010\/08\/chick-feed-lauras-sassy-salsa\/\"> Simple Sassy Salsa<\/a> or <a title=\"WELLNESS WEDNESDAY \u2013 Marvelous Mango Salsa Recipe\" href=\"http:\/\/www.fitchicks.ca\/blog\/2012\/03\/wellness-wednesday-marvelous-mango-salsa-recipe\/\">Marvelous Mango Salsa<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Remember chicks &#8211;
