And while many chicks are lusting over diamonds and pearls, <strong>I have had a long standing love crush on a sweet appliance<\/strong> that I finally got to take home this weekend- the spiralizer!<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_4392\" style=\"width: 310px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.fitchicks.ca\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/11\/Laura-kiss.jpg\"><img aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-4392\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-4392\" title=\"Laura kiss\" src=\"http:\/\/www.fitchicks.ca\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/11\/Laura-kiss-300x300.jpg\" alt=\"spiralizer fit chicks\" width=\"300\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.fitchicks.ca\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/11\/Laura-kiss-150x150.jpg 150w, http:\/\/www.fitchicks.ca\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/11\/Laura-kiss-300x300.jpg 300w, http:\/\/www.fitchicks.ca\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/11\/Laura-kiss.jpg 612w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-4392\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Together at last...my spiralizer xo<\/p><\/div>\n<p>For those who do not know what<a href=\"http:\/\/www.upayanaturals.com\"> <\/a><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.upayanaturals.com\">a spiralizer <\/a>is\u00a0 it is basically a slicer that turns your fruits and veggies into long noodles or ribbons<\/strong>.\u00a0 And why do I absolutely LOVE that idea?\u00a0 Because <strong>it gives you a super fast, grain &amp; gluten free, fresh, super healthy alternative to pasta! <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong> <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong> <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong> <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_4393\" style=\"width: 310px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.fitchicks.ca\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/11\/sauce-and-noodles.jpg\"><img aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-4393\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-4393\" title=\"sauce and noodles\" src=\"http:\/\/www.fitchicks.ca\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/11\/sauce-and-noodles-300x300.jpg\" alt=\"gluten free grain free dairy free paleo\" width=\"300\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.fitchicks.ca\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/11\/sauce-and-noodles-150x150.jpg 150w, http:\/\/www.fitchicks.ca\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/11\/sauce-and-noodles-300x300.jpg 300w, http:\/\/www.fitchicks.ca\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/11\/sauce-and-noodles.jpg 612w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-4393\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">The easiest and most delicious sauces and &quot;noodles&quot; you have ever had<\/p><\/div>\n<p><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong> <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong> <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong> <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>You can cut out the crappy carbs that spike your blood sugar, zap your energy and make you gain weight and still get your spaghetti fix<\/strong> especially as the weather gets cold and we can use that comfort food. Plus it makes your food look so pretty \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n<h3>CHICK FEED:\u00a0 Super Sassy Spaghetti Bolognese sans Spaghetti<\/h3>\n<p><strong>FOR THE &#8220;SPAGHETTI&#8221;<\/strong>:<\/p>\n<p>1-3 Zuchinni (depending on how many you are cooking for)<\/p>\n<p><strong>DIRECTIONS:<\/strong><br \/>\nUse your spiralizer to turn into noodles.  If you do not have a spiralizer, don&#8217;t stress!  You can also use <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bedbathandbeyond.ca\/product.asp?MC=1&amp;sku=12949731&amp;\">a julienne peeler<\/a> (looks like a reg veggie peeler but with teeth) or julienne strips on your mandolin slicer.<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>Tip:<\/strong> You can eat it raw but I like to steam my for a couple of minutes or add right to the sauce in the pot to heat the noodles slightly. It really feels like spaghetti to me then!<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>HOMEMADE TOMATO SAUCE<\/strong><br \/>\n<em>This recipe is super forgiving so you can play with it to suit your tastes. I adapted from one I found <\/em><a href=\"http:\/\/lakewoodfarmersmarket.blogspot.ca\/2011\/07\/raw-zucchini-pasta-with-sundried.html\"><em>on the Lakewood Farmers Market blog.<\/em><br \/>\n<\/a><strong> <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Ingrediants:<\/strong><br \/>\n1 cup sundried tomatoes (look for organic as many have sulphites in them!)<br \/>\n2\u00a0 tomatoes &#8211; seeds removed<br \/>\n1 red pepper<br \/>\n1 tbsp fresh lemon juice<br \/>\n1-2 cloves garlic<br \/>\n1 small red onion<br \/>\n1\/4 cup of olive oil<br \/>\n1 tbsp. chopped fresh oregano<br \/>\n1 tbsp. chopped basil<br \/>\nSea salt and pepper to taste<\/p>\n<p><strong>DIRECTIONS<\/strong><br \/>\nSimply throw all ingredients in a high powered blender and blend until smooth.  You may need to add a little more olive.  The key to the flavor in this sauce is the sundried tomatoes so add as much as you like! Serve hot or cold.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_4395\" style=\"width: 310px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.fitchicks.ca\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/11\/instagr.am_.jpg\"><img aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-4395\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-4395\" title=\"instagr.am\" src=\"http:\/\/www.fitchicks.ca\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/11\/instagr.am_-300x300.jpg\" alt=\"paleo grain free zuchinni spaghetti\" width=\"300\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.fitchicks.ca\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/11\/instagr.am_-150x150.jpg 150w, http:\/\/www.fitchicks.ca\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/11\/instagr.am_-300x300.jpg 300w, http:\/\/www.fitchicks.ca\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/11\/instagr.am_.jpg 612w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-4395\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Spaghetti Bolognese sans Spaghetti - My new FAVE meal!<\/p><\/div>\n<h3>MAKE IT A COMPLETE MEAL!<\/h3>\n<p>Now <strong>to make this a complete meal we need to add a protein to get a sweet balance of protein, fibre and fats<\/strong>.
