{"id":4263,"date":"2012-10-10T10:41:41","date_gmt":"2012-10-10T18:41:41","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.fitchicks.ca\/blog\/?p=4263"},"modified":"2012-10-10T10:41:41","modified_gmt":"2012-10-10T18:41:41","slug":"wellness-wednesday-pumpkin-pie-power-smoothie-recipe-dairy-free-gluten-free-paleo-friendly-vegan","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.fitchicks.ca\/blog\/2012\/10\/wellness-wednesday-pumpkin-pie-power-smoothie-recipe-dairy-free-gluten-free-paleo-friendly-vegan\/","title":{"rendered":"WELLNESS WEDNESDAY &#8211; Pumpkin Pie Power Smoothie Recipe (Dairy Free, gluten free, paleo friendly, vegan)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Hey Chicks,<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s is post Thanksgiving and I have\u00a0 about 3 cans of canned pumpkin (not the pie filling but just pumpkin) leftover and I have been stuck on what to use it for.\u00a0  Since I am back on my smoothie kick,<a href=\"http:\/\/www.maoomba.com\/powerful-paleo-pumpkin-pie-smoothie\/\"> <\/a>I was on the hunt for a delish recipe to incorporate it into my morning drink.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.fitchicks.ca\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/10\/canned-pumpkin.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-4264\" title=\"canned pumpkin\" src=\"http:\/\/www.fitchicks.ca\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/10\/canned-pumpkin-300x200.jpg\" alt=\"CANNED PUMPKIN\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.fitchicks.ca\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/10\/canned-pumpkin-300x200.jpg 300w, http:\/\/www.fitchicks.ca\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/10\/canned-pumpkin.jpg 720w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Here is a fab Pumpkin Pie Power Smoothie inspired by <a href=\"http:\/\/www.maoomba.com\/powerful-paleo-pumpkin-pie-smoothie\/\">a version that I found online at Maoomba.com. <\/a>I made a few changes to suit my tastes and get some more greens in too \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_4265\" style=\"width: 310px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.fitchicks.ca\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/10\/heart-ice-cubes.jpg\"><img aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-4265\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-4265\" src=\"http:\/\/www.fitchicks.ca\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/10\/heart-ice-cubes-300x300.jpg\" alt=\"coconut milk ice cubes paleo non airy gluten free\" width=\"300\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.fitchicks.ca\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/10\/heart-ice-cubes-150x150.jpg 150w, http:\/\/www.fitchicks.ca\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/10\/heart-ice-cubes-300x300.jpg 300w, http:\/\/www.fitchicks.ca\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/10\/heart-ice-cubes.jpg 612w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-4265\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Coconut milk ice cubes shaped like hearts of course \ud83d\ude42<\/p><\/div>\n<h3>CHICK FEED: PUMPKIN PIE POWER SMOOTHIE RECIPE<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>6 ice cubes (I froze my coconut milk in ice cubes in advance<\/li>\n<li>2\/3 cup non dairy milk\u00a0 (I used 1\/2 cup coconut and 1\/2 cup water)<\/li>\n<li>1 fistful of baby spinach<\/li>\n<li>1\/2 cup pureed pumpkin<\/li>\n<li>1 ripe banana (look for the spotty ones..they are extra sweet!)<\/li>\n<li>1 Tbsp flax meal<\/li>\n<li>1 Tbsp coconut oil (great source of healthy fats)<\/li>\n<li> 1\/2 tsp cinnamon<\/li>\n<li>1 tsp pumpkin pie spice or allspice<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Optional: Add in protein powder of your choice.\u00a0 If not adding protein powder, try adding hemp hearts or drink with your eggs at breakie for a good balance of protein, fibre and healthy fats.<\/p>\n<p>Directions<br \/>\nPlace all ingredients in blender and blend until smooth.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_4266\" style=\"width: 310px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.fitchicks.ca\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/10\/GREEN.jpg\"><img aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-4266\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-4266\" src=\"http:\/\/www.fitchicks.ca\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/10\/GREEN-300x300.jpg\" alt=\"glass straw green smoothie paleo vegan\" width=\"300\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.fitchicks.ca\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/10\/GREEN-150x150.jpg 150w, http:\/\/www.fitchicks.ca\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/10\/GREEN-300x300.jpg 300w, http:\/\/www.fitchicks.ca\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/10\/GREEN.jpg 612w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-4266\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">A little weird color but TASTY!  Plus I love using my new glass straw:)<\/p><\/div>\n<p>So DELICIOUS&#8230;I will def get through my canned pumpkin !!
