{"id":3963,"date":"2012-06-20T15:28:47","date_gmt":"2012-06-20T23:28:47","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.fitchicks.ca\/blog\/?p=3963"},"modified":"2012-06-20T15:28:47","modified_gmt":"2012-06-20T23:28:47","slug":"wellness-wednesday-hydration-station","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.fitchicks.ca\/blog\/2012\/06\/wellness-wednesday-hydration-station\/","title":{"rendered":"WELLNESS WEDNESDAY &#8211; Hydration Station!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Hey Chicks,<\/p>\n<p>So summer seems to have fully arrived on the East Coast and so has the heat.\u00a0 Even indoors today <a title=\"WELLNESS WEDNESDAY \u2013 We have a TV Series!\" href=\"http:\/\/www.fitchicks.ca\/blog\/2012\/06\/wellness-wednesday-we-have-a-tv-series\/\">while filming for our upcoming TV Series `Shape Up with FIT CHICKS`<\/a> (we have 9 episodes filmed so far- yay!), it was super HOT! I think I drank about 12 bottles during taping alone \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_3964\" style=\"width: 310px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.fitchicks.ca\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/06\/563873_10151819077855034_1909802170_n.jpg\"><img aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-3964\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-3964\" title=\"563873_10151819077855034_1909802170_n\" src=\"http:\/\/www.fitchicks.ca\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/06\/563873_10151819077855034_1909802170_n-300x300.jpg\" alt=\"laura jackson fit chicks\" width=\"300\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.fitchicks.ca\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/06\/563873_10151819077855034_1909802170_n-150x150.jpg 150w, http:\/\/www.fitchicks.ca\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/06\/563873_10151819077855034_1909802170_n-300x300.jpg 300w, http:\/\/www.fitchicks.ca\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/06\/563873_10151819077855034_1909802170_n.jpg 612w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-3964\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Rehydration time...bottle number 5! <\/p><\/div>\n<p><strong>The average chicks needs approx 2.3- 3 litres of water everyday just to replenish water loss throughout the day <\/strong>(ie breathing, sweating, going to the bathroom.number 1 and number 2!).\u00a0 This does not include the extra sweat you lose during your outdoor sweat sessions!<\/p>\n<p>Chicks, <strong>here are some little tips to make sure you are staying hydrated <\/strong>in these warmer temps:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><strong>Sipping water all day. <\/strong> You dont want to guzzle all at once (plus it can upset the tummy!) and if you are feeling really thirsty, you are already dehydrated.\u00a0 Try sipping from morning til night.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Count how many bottles you drink.<\/strong> Easiest way is buy a re usable bottle that is 500ml or 1 litre.\u00a0 This way you can track your intake.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Eat your water. <\/strong> A lot of hydration comes from the water in your fruits and veggies.\u00a0 Try lettuce, cucumbers, watermelon, celery&#8230;think high water content!<\/li>\n<li><strong>Flavour your water.<\/strong> If you are bored with your water, try adding frozen berries, cucumber, mint, rosemary, lemons, limes.
