{"id":3017,"date":"2011-08-05T09:26:43","date_gmt":"2011-08-05T17:26:43","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.fitchicks.ca\/blog\/?p=3017"},"modified":"2020-03-26T13:07:21","modified_gmt":"2020-03-26T13:07:21","slug":"fab-fridays-fitting-in-fitness","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.fitchicks.ca\/blog\/2011\/08\/fab-fridays-fitting-in-fitness\/","title":{"rendered":"Fab Fridays &#8211; Fitting In Fitness"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>How I Keep Moving When Moving!<\/h2>\n<p>Hey Chicks!<\/p>\n<p>On the Monday of the long weekend I moved to my new home which in my brain was going to be a quick and easy move. The place is gorgeous and freshly painted, cleaned etc so I figured it would be like a day or two of transition time and then voila I would be settled. Turns out I was a little eager in my assumption.<\/p>\n<p>My home is a disaster zone lol with boxed furniture and wrong sized mattresses in my living room. I would have to buy some new <a href=\"https:\/\/evamattress.com.au\/products\/the-eva-mattress\">Eva Mattress<\/a> and dispose the current ones. Needless\u00a0to say there is no space for an at home workout and really not a lot of time to get a workout in since my focus has been solely on getting stuff in place. So I have figured out how to incorporate my workouts into my move &#8211; sounds silly I know, but it seems to be working!<\/p>\n<p><strong>Here are my top three things I do to keep my sweat on while getting my place in order:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>1. Carrying all items from boxes upstairs one by one rather than in the box so I am forced to take the stairs a few extra times per box load.<\/p>\n<p>2. When picking up the lighter furniture I squat down to pick it up and add an extra few squats before putting it in its place<\/p>\n<p>3. Holding in my core &#8211; I have been keeping my core as tight as possible to keep the transverse abs working hard but also protect my lower back from any possible injury. Also adding in a twist whenever I can to place items in the fridge, on the shelves etc rather than moving my whole body I add the ab twist.<\/p>\n<p>As a bonus I also found my resistance bands so I have been doing extra arm and leg exercises with them when I need a break from all the moving and organizing.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Remember Chicks every little bit counts and helps so make sure no matter your situation you are always finding a way to work on your fitness.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Amanda xo<\/p>\n<p>ps. there is still time to sign up for <a href=\"http:\/\/www.fitchicks.ca\/locations\">FIT CHICKS 8 week bootcamps<\/a> in Toronto, Ottawa and Calgary &#8211; starting August 8th!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>How I Keep Moving When Moving!
