One of my fitness goals for 2011 is to run a 10km race (without walking) by November 30th.\u00a0 Last year, I ran my first 5km with <a href=\"http:\/\/www.fitchicks.ca\/blog\/2010\/10\/1321\/\">Team FIT CHICKS at the CIBC Run for the Cure<\/a> and loved it so now I have upped the ante.<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: justify;\">My personal intense cardio training<\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Currently, \u00a0I do a lot of running but is mostly <a href=\"http:\/\/www.sheknows.com\/health-and-wellness\/articles\/817102\/Boot-camp-workouts-blast-fat\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"color: #333333;\">high intensity interval training<\/span> <\/a>(short spurts of intense cardio followed by lower intensity for recovery).\u00a0 This is how we also train in our <span style=\"color: #333333;\">boot camp classes<\/span> with sequences like <a href=\"http:\/\/www.healthandfitnessadvice.com\/fitness-tips\/how-to-introduce-tabata-intervals-into-a-workout.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"color: #333333;\">tabatas<\/span><\/a> and it is awesome for increasing your cardiovascular strength and burns a ton of calories very quickly. I have great recovery time, but for long distance running it is a bit of a different ball game for me. I think my main challenge right now is the pacing. I have been chatting with some of the Chicks in class who do longer distance running so I will keep you posted on my tips and journey as I go &#8211; \u00a0but any tips would be greatly appreciated:)<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: justify;\">Running shoe recommendations, anyone?<\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">But first things first, I need new running shoes! The other day, I&#8217;d heard that there are many <a href=\"https:\/\/southafricatoday.net\/lifestyle\/health\/all-that-you-need-to-know-about-the-two-types-of-flat-foot\/\">Types of flat foot<\/a>, and so, I decided not to neglect this factor while getting some kicks, lest that they get worn betimes.
