{"id":2402,"date":"2011-05-11T10:17:44","date_gmt":"2011-05-11T18:17:44","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.fitchicks.ca\/blog\/?p=2402"},"modified":"2011-05-11T10:17:44","modified_gmt":"2011-05-11T18:17:44","slug":"wellness-wednesday-health-fitness-weight-loss-and-workout-advice-from-personal-trainer-and-head-chick-laura","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.fitchicks.ca\/blog\/2011\/05\/wellness-wednesday-health-fitness-weight-loss-and-workout-advice-from-personal-trainer-and-head-chick-laura\/","title":{"rendered":"Wellness Wednesday &#8211; Health, Fitness, Weight Loss and Workout Advice from Personal Trainer and Head Chick Laura!"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>A new dining experience<\/h2>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Hey Chicks,<\/p>\n<p>Happy Wednesday!\u00a0 Hope you are all having a fab week, <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.fitchicks.ca\/blog\/2011\/05\/mama-chick-mondays-healthy-eating-and-exercise-advice-for-moms\/\">snuck some veggies<\/a><\/strong> into your kids foods (and yours too!) as per the <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.fitchicks.ca\/blog\/2011\/05\/introducing-mama-chick-mondays-healthy-eating-and-exercise-advice-for-moms\/\">Mama Chick Monday post<\/a><\/strong> and are pumped that May <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.fitchicks.ca\/locations\">indoor boot camps<\/a><\/strong> are up and running:)<\/p>\n<p>I completely believe in eating as much unprocessed, unpackaged foods as possible. So how do you that when eating out? You go somewhere where you cook it yourself!\u00a0\u00a0A couple of weeks ago, I went to Korean BBQ for the first time\u00a0with some of the <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.fitchicks.ca\">FIT CHICKS<\/a><\/strong> team and I LOVED IT!<\/p>\n<p>My\u00a0<strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.fitchicks.ca\/blog\/2010\/11\/what-does-a-chick-eat\/\">vegan and vegetarian<\/a><\/strong> friends are probably cringing as they read this\u00a0(I promise an upcoming post for you!) but for my meat eating chicks,\u00a0Korean BBQ is a\u00a0super fun way to eat unprocessed, unpackaged healthy food\u00a0&#8211; plus it is cheap!<\/p>\n<p><strong>So why did I like it?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>1. Great selection of lean proteins.\u00a0\u00a0You can choose from\u00a0beef, pork, chicken, salmon, shrimp and squid\u00a0so try it all!<\/p>\n<p>2. Great option for <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Gluten-free_diet\">gluten free diets<\/a><\/strong>, <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/robbwolf.com\/faq\/\">Paleolithic Diet<\/a><\/strong> (think caveman!),\u00a0and high protein, no processed carb diets\u00a0diets.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Steer clear of the sauces (some contain wheat).<\/p>\n<p>3. You get to be a chef! Eating should be fun and you get to cook your\u00a0own food with your friends and family.\u00a0Plus, you know exactly what is in it. Make sure you do cook it long enough to avoid any food poisoning:(<\/p>\n<p><strong>But even though I loved it, still keep in mind:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>1. Not great for vegan diets or vegetarian.\u00a0 They do have a selection of tofu (even though I believe tofu should be eaten very minimally) and a minimal selection of veggies but not much to choose from.<\/p>\n<p>2. It&#8217;s &#8216;easy to over eat.\u00a0 Avoid the &#8220;All you can eat&#8221; option and go for a la carte to manage portions. 3-6 oz of protein is about all you need.<\/p>\n<p>3. White Stuff!
