{"id":1176,"date":"2010-08-26T00:57:38","date_gmt":"2010-08-26T04:57:38","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.fitchicks.ca\/blog\/?p=1176"},"modified":"2010-08-26T00:57:38","modified_gmt":"2010-08-26T04:57:38","slug":"my-achey-breaky-booty","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.fitchicks.ca\/blog\/2010\/08\/my-achey-breaky-booty\/","title":{"rendered":"My Achey Breaky Booty"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Hey Chicks!<\/p>\n<p>I do not know what is wrong with my body the last week but I am feeling SORE!<\/p>\n<p>As I am\u00a0challenging myself\u00a0to replace my caffeine addiction with all <a href=\"http:\/\/www.fitchicks.ca\/blog\/?p=1114\">natural smoothies<\/a> and juices (which even though I have cheated 3 times, I am doing pretty good!), I have also been getting back into my <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Bikram_Yoga\">bikram yoga<\/a> 3 times a week.\u00a0 I am not sure if it is that I am opening up alot of muscles or the caffeine trying to leave my system but I literally feel like I have been hit with a truck!<\/p>\n<p>For the last 7 days, everything just aches from head to toe &#8211; my neck, shoulders,\u00a0booty,\u00a0hamstrings ..even my eyes hurt!\u00a0it feels like I have been doing intense weight training sessions when\u00a0my workout regime for the\u00a0last week\u00a0has been teaching <a href=\"www.fitchicks.ca\">bootcamp<\/a>,\u00a0walking with my <a href=\"www.fitchicks.ca\">pedometer<\/a> and yoga!<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_1179\" style=\"width: 238px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-1179\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-1179\" src=\"http:\/\/www.fitchicks.ca\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/08\/yoga-warrior-1-228x300.jpg\" alt=\"yoga-warrior-1\" width=\"228\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.fitchicks.ca\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/08\/yoga-warrior-1-228x300.jpg 228w, http:\/\/www.fitchicks.ca\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/08\/yoga-warrior-1.jpg 304w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 228px) 100vw, 228px\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-1179\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Yoga - one of my fave ways to cross-train<\/p><\/div>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\">I had a little chat with my fabulous yoga teacher today, Richard, to try to get to the bottom of this\u00a0and he told me that he thinks it is due to 3 things:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>1. I\u00a0have been holding emotions in my muscles and they are trying to come out (that could be why I broke out in tears during Camel pose)<\/p>\n<p>2. I have been overtraining and my muscles are trying to regain their flexibility (so true &#8211; the only thing Gumbi about this chick right now is the green in the yoga top I wore today!)<\/p>\n<p>3. I am not sleeping enough so my sore muscles are not having time to repair (guilty as charged &#8211; I am averaging 5 &#8211; 6 hours a night!)<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<div id=\"attachment_1180\" style=\"width: 310px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-1180\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-1180\" src=\"http:\/\/www.fitchicks.ca\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/08\/chamomile-tea-300x183.jpg\" alt=\"chamomile-tea\" width=\"300\" height=\"183\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-1180\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Cozy chamomile tea - perfect for relaxing before bedtime!<\/p><\/div>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\">So what am I going to do?
